The location was fantastic, with easy access to the beach for walks or driving on the sand. the views were breathtaking, offering a perfect coastal getaway. Additionally, the property offered great value for families, with amenities like an indoor pool for the kids and a nearby golf course and restaurant for adults to enjoy.
The room accommodations could use some improvement. the furniture, particularly the couches and chairs, were not very comfortable.

Not much. I paid too much for the room which was a function of booking on line. It was never made clear that I could save money by booking at the hotel. The kitchen cabinets were falling apart. Everytime I opened a drawer I hoped the damn thing wouldn't totally self destruct and contents spill on the floor. Coffee was provided but not filters. What the hell's up with that?

The cost of the booking was a shock. I can't believe how stupid we were to use your service to book our stay at Gearhart by the Sea. It won't happen again. We will be passing that information on to everyone who might listen.

By the Sea had a great deck with excellent privacy walls and a beautiful distant ocean view. the apartment size was perfect for families, and the beach access was convenient. the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, and the on-site restaurant was a plus. Unit 670 provided a spectacular view and the proximity to the beach was ideal.
Misleading room selection. Noise disturbance from neighbors.

The location was excellent as well as the service.
I was told my room had an in unit washer and dryer when I booked. It did not.

Close to golf course.
You are really good at bait and switch. The two bedroom with a loft became a two bedroom in not very good shape. I know that you do not want to hear that but it is reality. Stated it slept 6. What was advertised and what we got were two very different things. Never knew it was a third party reservation. Nice advertising on your website. I will never reccomend using this again to anyone I know. Thanks

The REAL Fireplace in the room.
The rooms smelled musty. Nothing felt clean - drapes, blankets. Furniture in living room uncomfortable and maybe belonged outside on a porch. The living room did not have enough comfortable furniture to accomodate 5 adults. We were segregated to the pool without the hot tub and spa and access to the designated pool was inconvenient to get to with no direct path.

Asked that we be able to use different credit cards for the two nights we stayed. Staff said no problem. It was a problem. Took 20 minutes and not sure it was ever correctly done.

The reception staff was rude and unhelpful. If I owned a condo at Gearhart and if this particular staff was the difference between renting my unit and not renting it, then I would demand a change. From the perspective of a guest (rather than owner), I will not be coming back. McMennamins (who owns the restaurant in the same building as the hotel check-in) should also recognize that their "building-mates" are not doing anything to promote McMennamins. In fact, it seems as if the 2 organizations hate each other.

The quietness, the access to our apartment and the promptness of the staff wh en we reported the leakage of the sink. We would go there again, although I would make my reservations with the Inn, As they were much cheaper. Robert Stuart

Room size was great. Restaurant nearby is excellent. Walk to beach is quite for away. If you are booking, try to get an upper level room. You may have a view from there. Depending on which room you book, determines whether you get to use the hot tub or not (different pool). The Gearhart by the Sea website has very little info. I relied on the Booked.net info, and was really disappointed.
I was very upset about not getting a VILLA. The hotel said that the room names are determined by who I book through (Booked.net) . In fact, there are no villas. For this particular hotel, call to book personally. You might get better rates (AAA). You will get an accurate descripton of the rooms. They are ALL condos.

Structural integrity of the hotel building prevents extraneous sounds from intruding into the living area.
nothing displeased us about the Gearhart By The Sea. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

The room furniture was visibly soiled- I was able to clean. The table was very sticky. There was no remote for the TV. We had an issue with the fireplace (free standing stove). We lit a fire which did not burn however it apparently was smoldering and we woke to a room full of smoke. No smoke alarm went off. We called to ask for a different room; the response was we will send someone to replace the batteries in the alarm. The following nite the same thing happened and the alarms still did not go off. I would not recommend Gearheart by the Sea. It was overpriced and most importantly dangerous.
